28/06/2009 at 03:20Soccerkid77 (Egypt)
I want Spain to win Third. I want Brazil in First. I want USA already out. South Africa GOOD JOB!!!!!!!!!!
27/06/2009 at 16:11pizzaevino (Canada)
I love the way S.Africa plays, but being from europe I support Spain..
27/06/2009 at 14:45BiChO-BRA (Brazil)
What happened? Brazil becomes a weak team against africans. heheh I can remember the nigerians and others that give us a big trouble! Congratulations South Africa! I'm hopping you beat Spain!
27/06/2009 at 14:08zecasadeck (Brazil)
All of you are missing the point here: every team that plays against Brasil seems to be playing the World Cup finals. They always give their best to try and beat Brasil. That's what Bafana did. They played a lot, but free kicks are still part of the game.
27/06/2009 at 12:11BlackPride (South Africa)
@Harrysamba i dont no whch game u wer watch'n but the one i was watching was way different from yours that i know for sure.Cause i saw brazil failing to break the middle and defence of Bafana Bafana, and thats because we play they same ball as the brazillians,we hold on to the ball,we have skill.Unlike England we dont pass the ball in spaces hoping someone gets to the end of it.We closed brazil down quickly thats why players like Melo and Santos were getting frastrated.
27/06/2009 at 08:00WaterFall01 (USA)
i don't know if brazil went "easy" on SA or not. but they didn't give it there ALL. SA played a rock solid game.
27/06/2009 at 06:22adr7090 (USA)
Regarding the comment made by RONHADOU (USA): Brazil should keep Dunga...it's funny some people refer him as a coward. He was a defensive midfielder and knew where brazil's weakensses and vulnerabilities at the defence. So he is trying so hard to keep the defence so strong like the Italians-you can see how less goals they have conceded for Brazil's WC qualifiers. At the same time they haven't sacrificed their attack. Still they have the world class and lightning fast in the suprise attack as well sa in the counter attack. I think most of the people who make comments haven't even played soccer in a league or so, so they have no idea how tough a game could be if a team trying to defend for all the 90 minutes like the USA as well as SA-did we see any goals by any of them against Brazil? none. So I guess iut would be worth to eveluate your knowledge as a soccer fan than criticising national coaches.
27/06/2009 at 04:37Brasiliero (Canada)
Talking about LUCK. USA was lucky to finish 2nd in group B and USA got to thank Brasil to have finish 2nd. with a record 1-2-0 Everyone was saying that Spain would/will win the 2010 World Cup but now that we'll seen that the USA beat Spain, who will win it? Brasil is the best team so far.
27/06/2009 at 03:34Lelei481 (Brazil)
Man That was a good Match but next its Brasil vs USA.
27/06/2009 at 03:22manu_rocks95 (USA)
I think south africa played better and deserved to win, but daniel alves had a beautiful shot. The usa will have a tough time against brazil.
27/06/2009 at 02:21julioforever (Republic of Ireland)
brazil will beat usa now easily :D
27/06/2009 at 00:57futballmasta (USA)
Im proud of South Africa they played with passion, they played for the love of the game and out played Brazil. If they could of finished one of there chances the game would of went to them. It took a "perfect" set piece, a shot that bent around the keeper with alot of pace. I was impressed all tournament long with brazils set pieces and corners but they showed very little in run of play. Not the Brazil that Im used to but googd enough to get them to the final. I know the 3rd place and finals are going to be good games and I hope the best for SA and the US of A
27/06/2009 at 00:05larryboy (USA)
South Africa really palyed a very tactical game. They were just unlucky to have conceded a goal through that late freekick. The performance of both Egypt and South africa have shown that African soccer is improving very fast. We still have power houses like Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroon and Ivory Coast. Tunisia can also be relevant when they put their act together. SA 2010 here we come. Long Live African soccer.
26/06/2009 at 23:52Blazers (USA)
What a great game. Both teams showed great tactics. At the end it was nice that mighty Brazil won, but also that South Africa as the host team played so well and lost by one goal. They have a great coach. Go Joel Santana!!!!!
26/06/2009 at 23:47nanyukiborn (Sweden)
brazil played against south africa as if they were in a trance and luckily for dunga daniel alves saved the day for them and i don't think they can afford to play that badly against the americans for those boys can smell victory already so kaka & co.pull yourselves together, you have a tough match coming.
26/06/2009 at 23:25Rafael2014BR (Brazil)
Go Brazil! ALL I believe you! Ohhh! Brazil 3 x 0 USA→ Again!
26/06/2009 at 23:20Nakpoko (Canada)
South Africa was a better team last night and they played very well. There are going to be a lots of surprising next year at the World Cup. None of the big teams is winning the cup this time. Even small team can be unpreditable. Everyone should remember how Ghana defeated the big Czech in the last world cup. USA is going to prove stumborn for Brazil to defeat. Watch out but it's going to be very interesting game. USA 1 Brazil O
26/06/2009 at 23:09MrShmoo (Canada)
Ronhadu...I could agree with you if it wasn't for the fact that for some time everybody thinks that they can play like Brazil can...creative and beautiful..it took Parreira in '92 to realize that since other teams can better their skills, Brazil need to focus on defense...and that's why Brazil is still better than other teams, it can switch from attacking to defence...Plus Brazil have won 2 WC that way
26/06/2009 at 22:49FootGeniy (Russia)
Go Brazil!!!
26/06/2009 at 22:45brazuca52 (USA)
USArise. You said: We hit the post twice in the last game against Brazil... My advise: Next time try not to hit the post and the result might be different :)
26/06/2009 at 22:43FootGeniy (Russia)
what a pity that people dont want to understand soccer. It seems to me that many expect Brazil to entertain without grasping that Dunga is interested, correctly so, in results. according to me the current Brazil team is one of the greatest; superb on the counter attacks, defensive and able to play a normal game. Not to mention their tenaciy! that means they are ready to meet and defeat any team!!!
26/06/2009 at 22:38brazuca52 (USA)
Buckalicious (USA)... Brazil is not GODLY, they are just great! If we didn't have any past world cups and confederation cups and many other titles, I guess we would be saying the same thing you are saying (that you don't care about past accomplishments) STOP THE SHANANIGANS ALREADY! We are not infuriated to see the US do well in soccer, I like the US team and I wish them well. I live in the US and my son plays his soccer here, what I don't like are fans lake you who win one game and think they are the worls champs. Win something significant first and then we'll talk.
26/06/2009 at 22:27JorgeSPFC (USA)
Ronhadou, I would have to disagree with you about Kaka. I think he is one of the most gifted and technical midfielders in the game right now. Although, I do agree with you about Robinho. He seems to struggle and disappear against bigger and more physical defenders. Also, I think saying that this is a badly assembled Selecao is unfair. It's true they don't have the big names like the Three R's (Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, and Rivaldo) but remember what happened in 2006, they came home empty despite all that talent. Dunga's approach, though boring to most Brazilians, will be essential to Brazil's success next year. I believe that Brazil has the most potent offense year in and year out, but their weakness has always been defense. Remember, the last two times Brazil hoisted the World Cup, they had great defense. Brazil won the World Cup during the "Dunga era" in '94 and Scolari won in '02 by concentrating on defense over talent (snubbing Romario, despite many pleas for his addition to the national team).
26/06/2009 at 22:20brazuca52 (USA)
Lots of interisting comments here, however, this is for LOROUSA (USA)... Thank you for not being a fan of Brazil, we have plenty of fans from arond the world, we don't need you. I'm not sure if you a US fan or Spain fan, but it doesn't matter. Here is the difference, Brazil played a bad game and still found a way to win, the US played a great game... Brazil can play better than they did the last game, the US played as good as they can and probably won't play any better. Anyway, I'll compare Brazilian titles with you any day against whoever you root for and I know I'll always win. Win something first before you talk smack.
26/06/2009 at 21:49camisa12 (USA)
Dunga brought something that was long lacking to the Selecao: a tactical proposition. He was almost finished with the failure during the Olympic games in Beijing. The turning point might have been be the friendly with Italy, in February. The team still has bits and pieces to improve - the middle sees new alternatives in Felipe Melo and Ramires, now we see Daniel Alves and Andre Santos on the sides as more than just alternatives. The group is motivated and winning. Are they favorites? Without a doubt. Are they going to get the Cup? Maybe they will, maybe they won't. The most important point is that like it or not, Dunga's work is finally bearing fruits, with undeniable positive results.
26/06/2009 at 21:20USArise (USA)
With all due respect to south africa, the springboks were trying to play a fast game with brasil without trying to out strategize or outsmart them. had they done that, they would have won. If brazil is truly still the best in the world, they will beat US convincingly, but unlike spain and egypt, don't have excuses later should u lose.
26/06/2009 at 21:15USArise (USA)
Bluecorsair, its no secret that south american teams flop. US with basketball/football background, australia with the wallabies and NZ all blacks prefer toughness, however brazil does it least in south america. i like out chances if its 11 on 11 for 90 minutes. remember, in 1994 when US first really know of soccer, these current players were holding milk bottles. this is the first breed of pure american soccer players. more to come.
26/06/2009 at 21:09USArise (USA)
fcarzezki, wow friend, you are confused about which side you're rooting for. your comments are the same prior to the egypt and spain game. please, don't root for the US, stay on the brazilian side because u wouldn't know a thing about american pride and determination and american soccer history. Harry samba, that is the laugh of the day to suggest that brazil went easy on south africa.
26/06/2009 at 20:59BrazUSA (USA)
Many commentators here are jumping to conclusions. Brazil won its last 6 games against some very though teams including Uruguay, Paraguay and Italy. The team is doing well considering the sequence of competitions after a tiring European season for many players (I will add Spain and Italy also). For the USA, thanks to a large score against the Italians; Brazil helped the USA to advance in addition to the fact that the Americans did a good game against Egypt. Spain was unrecognizable. The USA did not qualify for the final in really glorious manner but thanks to the cup’s rules, the narrow passage that allowed the team to beat the extraordinary odds. And the soccer gods smiled upon the USA team. The game against the SA was though because Brazil played against a very motivated team which was playing home with its fan, has an excellent coach, who knows Brazil well, has good players, etc. A tie would be expected in a normal time but Brazil had a talented kicker that scored during regular time. Do I think that the Americans can beat Brazil in a final game? Yes, of course, in football anything can happen. If the Brazilians enter the game less motivated or enthusiastic than the Americans the odds will be that the USA will defeat the Brazilians. But also remember, the Brazilians have one less day than the Americans to rest and that affects also the physical performance. The Brazilians will have to get really motivated to overcome possible physical fatigue. It will be a great game, by any standards.
26/06/2009 at 19:54youessay (USA)
LOL! Everyone on here is soooo certain that Brazil will win on Sunday....Jeez, didn't anyone learn a lesson from the Canadians and the Spaniards guarantying a Spain victory...? This really is amazing...i've never seen this many fortune tellers in one place before...Anyhow, hope all nations who ARENT in the final, enjoy watching the U.S. play on Sunday...
26/06/2009 at 19:53janbouli (Netherlands)
The worst thing about all this is that now I have to be for Brasil to win, but that will leave all Brasilians thinking they are the only football nation in the world, on the other hand theres the USA , if they win, we'll have the same arrogance that they have in all fields of life , so I'll stick with Brasil at least they don't think they are the only country in the world, just at football.
26/06/2009 at 18:56pizzaevino (Canada)
Italy and Canada support Brazil, GO BRAZIL GO !!
26/06/2009 at 18:49Notnarg (USA)
The South Africans did much better than I expected (good job to them). It all came down to that great strike by Danny Alves at games end. USA vs. BRAZIL in the Confederations Cup final!!!!!!!!!!!
26/06/2009 at 17:48Thwanets (South Africa)
Good luck to Brazil & USA but SA showed brilliant game yesterday they have improved big time and I think Brazil took SA as underdog but we showed them what we are capable of.
26/06/2009 at 16:25mkejnewman (USA)
Excellent shot by Alves. United states has their work cut out for them in the final.
26/06/2009 at 16:10maomoa (USA)
Excellent game by bafana. They showed a lot of heart and had no fear of the Brazilian counter-attack. I was suprised by how much they controlled the pace of the game.
26/06/2009 at 15:20HarrySamba (England)
lacerf & Ronhadou...stop worrying..because nobody knows which Brazil will turn up to the next WC...but these players (although room for improvement)have the ability to win the World Cup. I think Baptista should be excluded from the Brasil squad and replaced with someone better.
26/06/2009 at 15:17HarrySamba (England)
Respect to the host nation SA, but SA has to come to terms with reality and stop pretending. I'm sorry but SA are poor infront of goal, only way SA could have won was with luck.
26/06/2009 at 14:22lacerf (USA)
RONHADOU (USA): you are the only other brazilian here who make sense. I have the same concerns as you and I got a response as if I were a US fan talking trash about Brazil. I am not. I disagree with your comparison to the 1978 team. But anyway, Dunga and his cowardly tactics will might be enough to bring Brazil the Confederations Cup but he might need A LOT of luck to win the World Cup next year. Joel Santana showed us that he is a much better coach with the way he he set up the South African team.
26/06/2009 at 14:10'fess' (Ukraine)
Good shot that was. Good luck both USA and Brazil in the final!
26/06/2009 at 14:10FCASTRO80 (Brazil)
Brazil is the only country that has conditions to make up 3 or 4 completely different teams capable of reaching a WC final. Sunday will be easy against USA.
26/06/2009 at 13:42Rafael2014BR (Brazil)
I do not speak much English but I will try: Go Brazil! A whole country rooting for you! The best team in the world! And on Sunday BRA 3 X 0 USA ...
26/06/2009 at 13:23HarrySamba (England)
Brazil went easy on SA, the score line could have been alot worse.
26/06/2009 at 13:22godawc (South Africa)
Oh yeah, how can I forget; there was a group of guys from Kenya wearing Kenyan colours supporting South Africa last night; I am proud of you guys.
26/06/2009 at 13:20godawc (South Africa)
Alves is my favourite football player the world over & ironically he sank my heart last night by beating us. I just knew that the free kick would definitely be a goal. Nonetheless, I am very, very proud of Bafana Bafana's last night performance and I pray that we approach all our games the same way from now onwards. For the final I go for Brazil.
26/06/2009 at 13:18HarrySamba (England)
It wasn't a tight game, Brazil scored at the right moment when it mattered and i'm happy for Dani Alves scoring from a free-kick!! Finally!!!
26/06/2009 at 12:37RedDevilFan1 (USA)
when i saw how close they were to goal i said to myself here comes the goal everone has been looking for and Brazil got it
26/06/2009 at 12:29bongsbonjo (South Africa)
HOLLANDI; why did u think Bafana could loose with suvh a margin, 5-0 or 6-0. i guess they proved their worth to u and some of the world's critics. We are proud of such a decent performance last night. Good things are hopefully coming our way come World Cup.
26/06/2009 at 12:24Kazol_ku (Bangladesh)
Brazil won & it makes me always happy but in the last match they'd play better. It was not their best playing. They have the ability to show better one.
26/06/2009 at 11:49zafootball (South Africa)
What a great game. End to end stuff and if not for a good save from Cesar and the post SA might just have pulled off a great win, but chances dont matter, only goals and what a goal. Also bringing on 3 subs in the last couple of minutes showed a little bit of panic in my mind. Bafana have given me hope that next year we can do ourselves proud at the WC and not roll over. Viva Bafana Bafana.
26/06/2009 at 11:45JohnScouse (England)
Wow, what happened with Brasil last night?!?!?! Ok, we won, we scored a great goal but we were poor! They looked tired, not bothered. Dunga should have made substitutes long before Alves with Baptista, Pato etc. But hey- we won!! Vai Brasil! Party in Liverpool on Sunday!!!
26/06/2009 at 11:37phumuzo (South Africa)
In "i always hear boo...when Booth...holds the ball" Cinakota exudes the usaul ignorance, just as some spanish media misreported how we (RSA fans) attack one of our own in a racist way. Truth is Mathew Booth is our hero, his posters hangs in the walls of every South African household. We do not "Booo" him as you and some in spain suggests, we simply scream his name: "Booooth"
26/06/2009 at 11:34morgajnr (South Africa)
I give the boys (Bafana-Bafana)credits for making S.A proud up until 88th-minutes. To speak the truth, Brazilians just Forget, your not gonna beat USA. i like USA defence, they dont give up. Lastly for those who are a bit confused, the guys at the stadiums are not saying "Boooo!!!" to booth they are saying "Booooooth"!!! and thats the way to motivate him.
26/06/2009 at 11:25mayweather (South Africa)
@Whitenoise posted 25/06/09 (22:11) What a choice of a name, NOISE. Dont you feel left out, of many people that have remarked here, you the one who was not watching the game or you were tipsy from that weed you have been smoking. SA played their hearst out and what is heartening is that no one gave us any chance agaist the luminaries of world football, the likes of Kaka, Robinho, Louis, i mean you name them. We played a team that has gotten no less than three goals in all matches prior to our but still we managed to make them huff and puff all the way to the 87th minute, by a subsitute and from a dead ball situation. Come on man, you can do better than this, give credit where its due. Especially if you take into consideration where we come from, we are slowly but surely improving. I cannot wait for 2010 people, I hope we will be ready. We played well on the day, one thing i hope we will do in future especially the WC. I am filled with pride eventhough we lost.
26/06/2009 at 11:12bongsbonjo (South Africa)
Cinakota: How many times must Booth explain to you that it is not booing what you hear, it is a cheering "Boooooooth". The Fans love him in that case. he is great afterall.
26/06/2009 at 10:50Kappa09 (USA)
I like some of the recent comments made about the US fans, you guys pointed it out perfectly. The US fans are just being arrogant and are living a dream that their team is ready to compete with the power houses. US fans seem to think they are #1 and experts in soccer just because they beat Spain and are in the finals, its quite funny actually but reality will sink soon. USA fans and others who are hating on Brazil need to learn to respect the greatest soccer nation in history. There are more Brazil fans in the world then any other nation and that is because they have conquered the hearts of many. Sure, Brazil played an ugly match against South Africa and sure the USA beat Spain who is currently considered #1, but that does not give you the right to talk smack about Brazil. I will wait to hear what you guys have to say when Brazil leaves the US in the dust on Sunday.
26/06/2009 at 10:40sbo2010 (South Africa)
i'M VERY PROUD OF BAFANA THEY CONTAINED BRAZIL AND ALMOST BEAT THEM, COME 2010 YA GONNA B STUNNED!!
26/06/2009 at 10:09ThatoT (South Africa)
Congratulations to the Brazilians for their hard-fought victory... I'm proud of Bafana Bafana for their outstanding performance against a great team like Brazil. My boys proved critics wrong as some predicted a 5-0 lose to Brazil.
26/06/2009 at 10:08Tanamly (Egypt)
having watched the game... Brazil won, but i cant say by a landslide and that in itself is an acheivement.. Bafana really put a wining performance and if it wasnt for Julio Cesar they would have scored on more than one occasion.. i say they came away with what they need.. they matched multi million dollar players and made them defend more than they attacked.. Lastly the foul that produced the goal really is a foul.. deserved goal therefore..
26/06/2009 at 09:59ThatoT (South Africa)
@cinakota, hehehe, well, at first u'd think the fans are booing Matthew Booth but they really just saying 'Booooooth'... It was the same with few more players years ago, Mark Fish, the fans used to affectionately call him 'Fiiiiiiiish' and Shoes Moshoeu was 'Shoooooooes'...
26/06/2009 at 09:54Sthabiso-RSA (South Africa)
@cinakota(USA) they crowd doesn't boo Matthew Booth, they go 'BOOOOOOOOOOOOOTH' which is our way of cheering a fantastic player.
26/06/2009 at 09:05sanababes (South Africa)
@CINAKOTA....how many times should we say this? we are not booing him,we are calling out his name, want me to spell it for you? with pleasure...BOOOOOOOOOTTTTHHHHHHH.
26/06/2009 at 08:54zaeemdasoo (South Africa)
My word...I dont believe wat im reading. Its time to give credit wer it is due.I was at the stadium and brazil wer not playing bad.South Africa really played well and did not allow Brazil to play. They have a solid team that is rebuilding. They only missing Benni Mcarthy as a finisher. The skill of Pienaar and Tshabalala is amazing.Brazil wer lucky.Having said that,i think they will crush USA
26/06/2009 at 08:3822792RS (England)
The final could be a tough game for both sides
26/06/2009 at 08:32colinTolland (Australia)
congratulations brazil. in australia we love ur skills as a team and good team work. hopefully we have another oppurtunity to play you guys again in 2010 and vs the best team in the world like 2006. we will not win but its good to play against the best
26/06/2009 at 08:28Kilemos (South Africa)
Cinakota (USA): We are not saying Boo, but rather we are calling out his name BOOTH. Dah!.What the hell do you take us for?
26/06/2009 at 08:19Southafric10 (South Africa)
Oh, Bafana-bafana did me proud against Brazil.I mean,we were on our way to the penalty kicks and then the free-kick happened.I am still proud of the boys, very proud.
26/06/2009 at 08:03Africanboy7 (South Africa)
Santana was planing for penalties, it seems he trusts our keeper more than our strikers. I hope european teams don’t snatch Khune (our keeper) and put him on the bench and waste his talent
26/06/2009 at 07:25Lillyanna (USA)
So, Brazil just got by. What is the big deal? All teams are vulnerable no matter how great they are. At least they won. Come down to earth Americans! Even if Brazil looses on sunday, we still have a great team like Italy, Spain, Germany and Argentina. Did I mention USA?
26/06/2009 at 07:24RONHADOU (USA)
Okay!...Brazil won and I am glad they did. having said all that, I must say that as a Brazilian football fan,I am very wooried for this team in the next WC.This is the worst selecao that Brazil has assembled since 1978. Dunga should be fired, period. He is ruining the Brazilian football as we know it.He is trying to integrate eurpean soccer to the to the Brazilian style and it is not working and never will. We need creativity in midfield and a forward that can brake down defenses and improvise. Kaka and Robino can't do neither. My advice to the Brazilians is to fire Dunga and bring back coach Alberto Pereira.
26/06/2009 at 07:21koketsom (South Africa)
I really don't know what people are talking about, a south africa VS Brazil match is always close, brazil has never beatin south africa by more than 1 goal. I personally think that south africans are some of the best ball players in the world, they just lack the finishing touch. I mean pienaar, tshabalala and modise are just as good as kaka and robinho if not better. I salute you bafana, you put out a grat warning sign for for next year.
26/06/2009 at 07:19neveron0787 (USA)
Well done Brazil, good game South Africa! Can't wait to play ya'll again Brazil, looking forward to a competitive game!
26/06/2009 at 07:08Shukry (Sri Lanka)
I simply want Brazil to win this and defy the statistics to prove that the confederations cup holders can also win the world cup.
26/06/2009 at 07:04adr7090 (USA)
I totally agree with booguman, in fact no other teams have studied how to beat Brazil excpet for France. They have done it really well from thier set pieces and slowly tightening their defence as the game progress. Remember they play 4, 5 and a lone striker. But just because USA won against Spain, you cannot say USA are superior than Spain. USAarise talks a typical MLS manner. Currently Brazil is the strongest team on the planet. No matter how they play they win, that's the end result. It's nice to see USA coming back though, but it will take far more than that to even draw with Brazil. The way SA played agains Brazil was good to contain them but they never seemed to be potent in their attack. The same thing is with the USA they will flood its penalty area with 7-8 men so no one can go there. This is not real soccer, just a check out line at the Walmart.
26/06/2009 at 06:23fkarczeski (USA)
USArise, wow it is okay rooting for a team but at least think about what you are saying... "Brazil's weakness is in goal"?? Julio Cesar is one of the best keepers in the world right now! true, you did hit the cross bar twice on the first game, but that was after Brazil stopped running! every body could see that Brazil slowed down after the red card because there was no reason for them to keep pushing since they had the game already won. and you can stop Maicon, it won't matter... we have a left side too you know, a left side that has Andre Santos, Kaka and Robinho... shoot I want you guys to stop Maicon so we utilize more the left side, because those players can kill any team in the world! good luck in the final, you are going to need it if you want the slight possibility of winning!
26/06/2009 at 06:08SEkhON (Australia)
Now its all American Continents final..North America (USA) vs South America (BRAZIL).This would be a very tough match for Brazil.USA has nothing to loose & BRAZIL has an opportunity to add another glory to their soccer history.BRAZIL starts as favourites on papers but practically which team will take care of 90 minutes will be Champion & one step more closer to next year's World Cup.Let see wat happens...!!!

I've really enjoyed this Confederations Cup, as a World Cup (and Gold Cup) precursor. The semis were really well-played and a lot of fun. I have to say, Alves free kick was really lovely. I hope the USA has another great game in them - good luck on Sunday, neighbours to the south.
26/06/2009 at 05:55Kappa09 (USA)
You really have no idea what you are talking about USArise. When has Brazil ever flopped and begged for red cards? USA is just prone to doing stupid things that get them red cards. Brazil's weakness is not Julio Cesar, he is considered by many the best keeper in the world and for your information Tafarel was never a great keeper, he was just good at defending penalty kicks.
26/06/2009 at 05:44BrasilBoy92 (USA)
Haha!!!!! 3-0 to the US you are funny USArise! We hit the post twice... lol you still lost very badly to brazil and you will again on sunday!
26/06/2009 at 05:37MarkusMerk (Mexico)
Win Brasil!!! Don't let me down like Spain did.
26/06/2009 at 05:36juli4783 (USA)
Brazil Will win, I think that U.S.A Is good but Brazil is Brazil playing bad or good if they want to win they win just like that.Even if usa beat's spain??? I mean Brazil is brazil(5time champions of the world) Home of the best player's of all time(PELE-ZICO-RONALDINHO-ROBERTO CARLOS-RONALDO-ROMARIO-DUNGA-CAFU... and I can continue) We got KAKA and he will make 1 or 2 goals againts U.S.A plus 1 or 2 beanch players Ull c USArise.
26/06/2009 at 05:32benetin (China PR)
How ugly was Brazil playing today... We want at least Ronaldinho, who is not as good as before, but still better than any player in this Brazil team.
26/06/2009 at 05:28pizzaevino (Canada)
USArise, you are wrong, USA 10 BRAZIL 0..hahahah...dont forget to put ketchup on top of every brazilian goal..lol
26/06/2009 at 05:27brasil6 (Brazil)
Brasil only had a bad game thats it. its like the first game with egypt they won a tight game then the next one came back and played great. The only real problem i saw was the fact the Dunga took forever to sub out the players
26/06/2009 at 05:20jalex083 (USA)
Brazil will win. Hands down!
26/06/2009 at 05:09Bankhead (Canada)
Brazil
26/06/2009 at 05:07LOROUSA (USA)
If I were a Brazil fan (which I'm not and will never be) I wouldn't be very happy about Brazil's performance against SA. Bafana Bafana matched Brazil stride for stride. Brazil did not dominate this game at all and SA had more heart and the better chances. Spain in defeat played better than Brazil in victory. Spain dominated the USA and two bad defensive mistakes combined with fantastic USA defense cost them the match. Brazil was not better than a SA, team that was easily beaten by Spain last week. Once again only a set piece saved them. Brazil may very well win the title here but, playing like that, they will not win any fans.
26/06/2009 at 05:00BlueCorsair (Australia)
USARise, no need to be arrogant towards Brazil - yes they had to work hard against South Africa and their defense has been fragile in some matches - but with the way they play and their quality it's a bit too much to say they would need US red cards etc. in order to win. I don't have any issue with their and Dunga strategy - being smart has nothing to do with cowardliness, all the teams are tactical these days, also, most of time they do play very attractively (I admit I haven't seen any of their WCQ matches). Having said that, US has done great job and can put good performance in the final, anything can happen. As to Jjunior2014 - better to wait with your non-respectful stickers until the final end whistle.
26/06/2009 at 04:59Gus_Bagno (Brazil)
USARrise is nuts! Our weakness is in goal? Julio Cesar might be better than tafarel...hahaha you dont know what you are talking. Julio Cesar is the best goalkeeper nowadays. You're saying it because you havent watched Brasil's matches in WC Qualifiers. Dont talk what you dont know.
26/06/2009 at 04:58GRIFFINDINHO (Australia)
UsArise your ignorant you say america is gonna win 3-0 cmon don't get hype up cause america beat spain 2-0 after all its only the confederations cup
26/06/2009 at 04:46vagner1980 (USA)
The final is USA vs Brazil. Both teams are great. The final could not be better. The best will win. Good luck guys!!!!
26/06/2009 at 04:43Azzurri4life (Italy)
Nice free kick today, to put Brazil in the final, but watch out Brazil. Team USA can pull some upsets.
26/06/2009 at 04:42tinorules (USA)
triocolor.rio, you make so much sense! Brasil of course has the distinct advantage in the Final, but I think the USA has a different air of confidence and belief then from over a week ago! At this point there are no more such things as pre-determined or easy wins. I hope my USA wins, but if Brasil outperform us and win or grind out a result I'll give them the credit they deserve. By the way, great job today Bafana Bafana! You played like the Lions of Africa you are and did your supporters proud. Viva SudAfrica!!
26/06/2009 at 04:29pizzaevino (Canada)
OUR COMPLETE SUPPORT TO BRAZIL !!!! ADIANTE E BOA SORTE !!
26/06/2009 at 04:24nmsain39 (USA)
Heloooooooo-Iker, can you hear me now? Are you still the favorites? Why did'nt you keep your appointment with Julio Cesar? the samba boy expected your company. it's very disappointing that you don't keep your appointment. when you know you can not keep an appointment, don't make any promise to your fans.
26/06/2009 at 04:19didigo (Canada)
you americans are too funny, you make it past the group stages thanks to Brazil, then happened to luckily beat a tired Spain and now you think that you are champions, i wouldn't be like you guys in a fantasy world but more like realistic, USA will play their hearts out but the Kings of futebol Brasil will be back to back champions of the confederations cup 2009.
26/06/2009 at 04:18EdsonColle (USA)
Great game, SA played the game of their lives, they gave everything they had...It is alway tuff to bet the host country. Brazil could not create much cause the Bafana-Bafana were every where in the field, Brazilians could not driblle or pass a perfect ball... The goal had to come from a Corner kick or a free kick. And that is when tallent and skills makes the difference. BRASIL in another final despite the criticism of some and for the delight of most. USA is in the same level but not as tuff as SA, I predict another 3x0 on Sunday.
26/06/2009 at 04:00hamada_elmas (Egypt)
dont think that usa is easy game 4 u .they know how 2 manage the game well.
26/06/2009 at 03:47cinakota (USA)
We can see "say no to racism" in every stadium in SAF. But i always hear "boo..." when Booth, South African player holds the ball.
26/06/2009 at 03:34Buckalicious (USA)
You guys make it sounds like Brazil is GODLY! But clearly after your performance today you guys are NOT THE GREATEST THING KNOWN TO MANKIND. I dnt care about your past world cups, on confed cups...we're talking about the present. Which what happened this tournament...U.S. upsets the #1 team in the world, then you infidels say that Spain was either washed up, overrated, or not a good team in general. STOP THE SHANANIGANS ALREADY! Bottom line, you guys are infuriated to see the U.S. do well in Soccer...because if, and when we get categorized as one the the elite teams in the world...you guys will go absolutely incensed. LOL
26/06/2009 at 03:34BSVE1211 (Ecuador)
When Daniel Alves came into the game I knew he was going to make a difference with another one of his amazing goals. Brazil will be the champions of the confederations cup!!!
26/06/2009 at 03:11Qhodier (Indonesia)
not bad for brazil, play in worst field... congrats for afrika can make brazil fighting till end...
26/06/2009 at 03:05fkarczeski (USA)
@Buckalicious - it is because of comments like yours and people that think like you that the rest of the world has a problem with U.S. Americans! you are cocky and arrogant without any rights to be!! "defeat is imminent"?? don't make me laugh! sure it CAN happen, even Brazil's players admitted that it could happen, but to say that the U.S. has so much offensive power to beat the so vulnerable Brazil is a joke! sure US showed they can beat anyone by beating Spain, but don't forget that the Spaniards had 29 shots on goal against less than 10 for the americans, where was all your offensive power then? the truth is US played extremely good defense and were able to hold spain's defense from scoring and that's how they ended up winning the game (on two defensive mistakes, I might add). Question is, how lucky do you think you are on defense to also keep Brazil from scoring? the team that has scored the most this whole competition? because even though Spain scored 5 on New Zealand they weren't the team with the best offense! so good luck to you, because you'll need it on Sunday to have a chance against the always favorite Brazil!
26/06/2009 at 02:59uBlast (Brazil)
Can´t understand some american comments here. First everybody saying USA would ashame them by performing a suddently poor performance before went back on first flight home. After a huge brazilian help for USA qualifying (Italy game), and after USA win against favorite Spain, USA is now a dream team? Plus, at first moment, all USA fans were hidden, now all summon for the rise of a "new soccer powerhouse"? Easy...Easy... PS: for those saying brazil is lucky, defense is not good or whatever, my advice: The only thing that matters in a tournament is the result. Playing beauty or ugly soccer, does not matter. Win the game matters. For playing soccer using tricks and other "beauty" skills, brazil usually prefer friendly matches. When a trophy is on dispute, we play ugly if necessary, goals and points are the main objective.
26/06/2009 at 02:31suazo_2010 (USA)
made me laugh lluvBrasil :)
26/06/2009 at 02:31USArise (USA)
hey Lisa, i thought u said spain was gonna win easy against US and then Egypt was gonna win easy against US. you are 0-2. BTW australia never could win easy when it was in oceania, and reality will set in for the socceroos in the next world cup.
26/06/2009 at 02:29roc1276 (USA)
I've been reading all of these comments from american fans talking trash about Brazil's lack of play and flare. US wins two game and now they're experts ?? Once again, Brazil just showed the world that they don't really have to be at their best to win games, they can beat any team because when they lack, flare, speed, control or lack of pace, they have whats called individual talent and skills and that my friends the US team knows nothing about...So before you americans keep talking all that trash, you have to earn the right to do so, and last time I checked you had never won anything, unlike the Brazilians whom hold almost every world in soccer. Again I SAID ALMOST not all.
26/06/2009 at 02:23USArise (USA)
We hit the post twice in the last game against brazil after we were down to 10 men, we won't do that again. we will attack brazil often. the only way brazil will win is if they start flopping and beg for red cards on US players.
26/06/2009 at 02:20USArise (USA)
Brazil's weakness is in goal. Julio Cesar is no Tafarel. We're got to put immense pressure on them, and shut off Maricol on the right wing. Bradley will outsmart Dunga. Remember what kaka said "its not how u start, its how u finish". USA 3 Brazil 0.
26/06/2009 at 02:17BrodiFAAbs (Brazil)
Playing good or playing bad BRAZIl just keeps on winning! Don't hate you all... JUST BEAT IT and then talk as much as you want... until that happens.... VIVA BRAZIL and GO SELECAO!!! STILL THE ONE TEAM TO BEAT AROUND THE GLOBE!!! THE TRUE CHAMPION OF ALL CHAMPIONS!!!! Bringing another trophy to the gallery!!!! hahahaha
26/06/2009 at 02:16USArise (USA)
Brazil, first u beat us 3-0, then you helped us get in. you just woke up the sleeping giant. I love your futbol and pele, but you are about to face the first breed of pure american soccer players. US 3 Brazil 0.
26/06/2009 at 02:10booguman (Costa Rica)
I am surprise of the view of some of the European fans about Brazil game. Brazil has many ways to beat their opponents. If they consider their self technically and physically superior they will try to play a very fast and pressing game. If they consider that they are in a disadvantage physically they will play with more caution, study their rival and counter attack when they have a chance. Today SA played a good game, but that was not enough to consider that they played better or at the level of Brazil. The only team in Europe that knows how to play Brazil is France, the rest of the European teams know how to play against the Football wizards (they confuse a poor game with letting the rival relax to shock at the end)
26/06/2009 at 02:04Jjunior2014 (Brazil)
USA = BAD TEAM
26/06/2009 at 01:57Jjunior2014 (Brazil)
This comment goes to LACERF(USA), hope you learn something about football before talking rot. Brazil is 5 times winner of cups.
26/06/2009 at 01:46PROPATRHCATP (Brazil)
HEY! Buckalicious (USA): brazil is vulnerable ? BRAZIL is not a child ... IN SOCCERCRACY you guys in CONCACAF ARE below of honduras, Costa Rica (great chicos) and Mexico (braves soccer players) this is a facT! SECOND PLACE to USa is more than the most otimist americans can expect!
26/06/2009 at 01:31Lisa108 (Australia)
Brazil will win easy.
26/06/2009 at 01:29PROPATRHCATP (Brazil)
I was sad when seeing ON TV some Africans crying. In some seconds I remembered of what the Brazilians had felt in MARACANASSO in 1950 - the biggest tragedy of all the times. SO, please brazilians brother lets move on and stop talk about this game, letS do like the Uruguayan player GIGHIA did not say anything ABOUT MARACANASSO because he having seen of close the sadness in the face to each Brazilian in that day. Today, I see the impoRtancy of the words from GIGHIA he was a great gentleman. LETS BE A GOOD AND FAIR WINNER. BAFANAS PLAYED A HIGH SOCCER. TO THE SOUTH AFRICAS I SAY: UNTIL THE BRAZILIAN SOCCER ONLY IT IS NOT MADE OF VICTORIES. BAFANAS GOOD LUCK NEXT YEAR!
